CRM outcomes for lead-generation agencies
Lead attribution coverage: show what your report can actually explain
Attribution coverage is the share of in-scope CRM outcomes that can be connected to the reporting source you are analyzing, define the outcome and source before calculating the percentage
Use an explicit denominator
For a creative-level report, use unique qualified outcomes assigned to a creative divided by all in-scope unique qualified outcomes in the same cohort
If 60 of 100 qualified outcomes have a creative assignment, observed coverage is 60%, the other 40 outcomes remain unassigned rather than becoming failed ads
This is a reporting definition, not Meta Event Match Quality, Meta may measure event quality and matching differently
Separate delivery, matching and attribution
- Delivery
- The receiving API accepted an event
- Matching
- The available identifiers can connect the event to a person or record in the relevant system
- Attribution
- A reporting rule assigns an outcome to an ad, campaign or source
A successful delivery response proves neither a successful match nor an attributed conversion
Investigate the gaps in order
- Check whether the CRM stage transition exists and belongs in the report
- Check the lead source and available identifiers
- Review consent and supported data collection for that source
- Inspect event generation, timestamps, duplicate handling and delivery errors
- Review attribution rules, observation windows and delayed sales updates
Classify each gap with a reason when possible, do not use a single catch-all failure count for every stage
Make a client report auditable
Show the cohort dates, observation cutoff, qualification definition, assigned outcome count, unassigned count and coverage calculation beside the headline metric
Keep client datasets separate, the coverage for one client cannot stand in for another client with a different CRM or lead source
A comparison between two creatives should include enough context to see whether coverage changed, otherwise an apparent winner may reflect better measurement
What to improve next
Fix missing identifiers and inconsistent stage updates before adding more charts, assign an owner and a follow-up date to each recurring failure
Use the mapping worksheet to repair the source definition and the CPQL guide to make comparable calculations
ProvenAd reports attributable outcomes and gaps, complete attribution and campaign uplift are not guaranteed
